Conventional Racks: Applying Barcode Labels to the Sample Containers
Place the barcode labels onto the sample containers so that they meet the following conditions:
Do not allow the barcode to protrude from the top of a sample container:
Apply the barcode label at least 36 mm above the bottom of the sample container. If the
•
label is applied below this position, the sample container may not be completely inserted
because the label can get caught on the edge of the hole on the rack.
Apply a barcode label with an angle of 5 degrees or less. (See the following illustration.)
•
Make sure the entire surface of the label adheres to the container.
•
Do not apply a sealant, etc., or mark the sample container below the barcode label. Do
•
not insert foreign matter into the sample container between the lower edge of the label
and the bottom. Any of these conditions could cause the sample container sensor to fail.
If the specifications listed above cannot be met due to special requirements, please contact
Beckman Coulter Technical Services.
