2. If the operator wants to start at a number other than 1 each time a new index is created,
enter default values of the routine, emergency, STAT, and repeat samples. Enter these
values for serum, urine, and other samples.
3. After the entry is completed, select “OK.” The current window is closed and the contents
are saved.
4. Press function key F2 (exit) twice to return to the main menu.
F8: Data Index (Sub-screen of F4: Set):
The data index can be changed by selecting the index date/time from the pull-down menu. If
“current time” is selected, the current system date and time will be set as an index date and
time. The date/time can also be manually entered. Enter the year, month, day, and time in
the format according to the displayed message. To enter the current date and time quickly,
enter “=” and press enter. The current system date and time will be set.
F5: Cal. (View the calibrator rack setup):
Press function key F5 (Cal). Use this screen to confirm calibration samples that correspond
to their set positions on the yellow rack. It is also possible to confirm them as calibration
samples with barcode IDs. Calibration samples without barcodes will also be illustrated. Each
calibration sample is identified by its “CAL No.” In cases where there is a barcode, a list of
“CAL #s” “CAL IDs” and “CAL names” will display.
F6: QC (View the QC rack setup):
Press function key F6 (QC). Use this screen to confirm control sample location for QC with
respect to their position on the green rack. It is also possible to confirm barcode IDs of control
samples. When green racks are used, a rack diagram appears on screen displaying QC. Each
control sample is identified by the “QC No.” In samples with a barcode, a list of “QC #s,” “QC
IDs,” and “QC names” are displayed.
F7: Masking:
Use this feature to set selected tests among those added to a round so they will not be
analyzed (i. e. they will be masked). Patient samples for masked tests will not run. Tests
requisitioned for Reagent Blank, Calibration, QC will be performed for masked tests.
1. Press function key F7 (masking)
. A list of tests will display in the “Masking” dialog box.
2. Select the tests that are NOT to be analyzed by moving the cursor with the arrow keys
and pressing the space bar. Each time the space bar is pressed, the test item changes
between “selected” and deselected.”
3. Select the “OK” button.
The tests masked in this procedure are valid until an End
Process is performed.
4. Press function key F2 (exit) twice to return to the main menu.
F8: Inventory Check:
After pressing function key F8 (inventory check), the inventory check dialog box displays the
projected amount of reagent that will be used. After requisitioning a test, this screen will show
how much reagent will be used in mLs.
