MDA Port and Cable Options
Before connecting network devices to the Model 58000 switch, determine the
type(s) of MDA(s) you need to install in the switch. Also decide what type of
cable to use to connect these devices.
When connecting network devices to the Model 58000 switch, always observe
the maximum segment length allowed by the IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T and
100BASE-T standards.
shows the MDA options, cable options, and maximum segment
lengths for the Model 58000 switch. Refer to the IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T and
100BASE-T standards for more information about cable options and maximum
segment lengths for 10 Mb/s and 100 Mb/s signals.
