Live input mappings: Designer
X-Agora Designer can also use live input devices, which is useful when you build a
project and do not have Players available. When you create a new project, the Designer
mappings use the matching physical devices.

Live input blocks on Timelines
When adding a live-input element to a timeline, you must choose which virtual device
to use for that element. The example shown in
Figure 5.47, “Sample Live-Input Timeline”
uses
SDI 0
. (This value can be changed by means of a drop-down list in the Properties
pane.) Based on the list of live inputs in
Figure 5.43, “Live inputs SDI”
, this corresponds
to the first physical SDI input of the DeltaCast card on this machine. If there is no such
device and the mapping is set to None, a black texture is applied. If the live-input element
is run on several Players, SDI 0 could point to different physical cards and physical in-
puts. This feature gives you the flexibility to use different inputs but address them with
one Timeline element.
