Installation
If there is a version of SoftConsole installed that is below 3.2, the application must be removed before
the new software can be installed. For more information, see Removing Old SoftConsole Software. If the
SoftConsole version is 3.2 or above the software can be upgraded. For more information, see Upgrade
Procedure.
This process assumes that the PC is connected to the LAN and can communicate with the IP Office.
To install SoftConsole software:
1. Insert the IP Office User Applications CD. The CD should auto-start the InstallShield Wizard. The
'Choose the language for Installation' window opens.
2. Select the language for the installation. Click Next. The 'Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for
IP Office User Suite' window opens.
3. Click Next. The 'Customer Information' window opens. Enter your user and company name.
Select to install the application so that anyone who uses the computer can use SoftConsole or
only the person entered in the user name field.
4. Click Next. The 'Choose Destination Location' window opens. Leave the destination folder
setting at default unless absolutely necessary.
5. Click Next. The 'Setup Type' Window opens.
6. Select Custom.
7. Click Next. The 'Select Features' window opens.
8. De-select the Phone Manager option and select the SoftConsole option.
9. Click Next. The 'Start Copying Files' window opens. Settings can be changed at this stage.
10. Click Back to review or change any settings
or
Click Next to begin copying the files. The 'Setup Status' window opens. The SoftConsole files
may take a few minutes to install.
11. The 'InstallShield Wizard Complete' window opens. Click Finish to exit the wizard.
SoftConsole is installed and now needs to be configured.
