Configuration
Overview
After installation the system must be configured to enable Phone Manager to work. All the changes are
explained in the following sections.
License Keys
A Phone Manager Pro license key is required for each Phone Manager Pro user. If insufficient
licenses are available Phone Manager operates in Lite mode. For more information, see Entering
License Keys.
Manager
The IP Office Manager application needs to be updated with the Phone Manager type and
general configuration recommendations. For more information, see Selecting the Phone Manager
Type and IP Office Manager Configuration.
Play Sounds
You can configure Phone Manager plays various sounds to announce calls ringing and waiting.

Instant Messaging
When Instant messaging has been activated you can configure your operating system to give an
audible alert when an instant message is received. For more information, see Configure Instant
Messaging.
VoIP Mode Operation
If you are using Phone Manager Pro VoIP additional settings in Manager on within Phone
Manager must be applied. For more information, see Configure a PC Softphone.
Command Line Options
Changes made to the command line options enable you to remove buttons from the Phone
Manager toolbar and provide several shortcuts to Phone Manager on one PC. For more
information, see Disabling Buttons and Logging in as a Specific User.
Popping External Programs
Phone Manager Pro can be set to pop an external application whenever an incoming call arrives.
The Phone Manager application 'Pops' to the front and becomes the foreground application. For
