Repeated cleaning and disinfection proce-
dures may result in minor discolorations of
the plastic housing components. However
these do not affect the function of the device.
If liquids or solids come into direct
contact with the interior of the de-
vice, the device must be inspected by
ASSKEA GmbH or by an authorized
service partner of ASSKEA GmbH.
4.1.3 Cleaning and disinfecting the
reusable secretion canister
Please note the respectively applicable hy-
giene instructions. Unless otherwise direct-
ed, please follow these steps:
1. Empty the reusable secretion canister and
dispose of the aspirate in a proper manner.
2. Remove the ball before performing the fol-
lowing cleaning instructions (fig. 29(C)).
3. Rinse all components of the reusable
secretion canister under running water.
4. Immerse all components of the reusable
secretion canister in disinfectant solution
for immersion disinfection (see section
4.1.1) recommended by ASSKEA GmbH,
observing the specific concentration quan-
tity. The reusable secretion canister and
lid can also be autoclaved at 121 °C for 20
minutes.

5. Then rinse the components thoroughly
under running water and let them dry.
When using an appropriate cleaner made
by the manufacturer DR. WEIGERT (e.g.
‘neodisher AN‘), the components may
also be cleaned in a special dishwasher,
observing the manufacturer’s instructions.
6. Assemble the dry components according
to fig. 29.
ASSKEA GmbH recommends replacing the
reusable secretion canister every 4 weeks, if
it is used and disinfected frequently.
4.1.4 Cleaning and disinfecting the connect-
ing tube
Please note the respectively applicable hy-
giene instructions. Unless otherwise direct-
ed, please follow these steps:
1. Applies only for ASSKEA reusable secre-
tion canister system: Remove the external
bacterial filter and dispose it of in a proper
manner (see section 6.3) prior to cleaning
the connecting tube.
2. Rinse the connecting tube with clear water
and place it in disinfectant solution solu-
tion for immersion disinfection recom-
mended by ASSKEA GmbH (see section
4.1.1), observing the specific concentra-
tion quantity and the residence times.
3. Then rinse the connecting tube thoroughly
with clear water and let it dry.
ASSKEA GmbH recommends replacing the
connecting tube every 4 weeks at the latest.
