1. Switch off the device after the aspiration
by setting the power switch (fig. 1(F), fig.
2(F)) of the analog secretion aspirators to
‘O’ or by pressing the ON/OFF button (fig.
3(E)) of the digital secretion aspirators for 3
seconds (confirmed by an acoustic signal).
2. Disconnect the power supply unit or the
mains cable from the mains supply (100 V
to 240 V AC) and then disconnect the de-
vice plug from the aspiration device.
3. Remove the suction tube (fig. 1(I), 2(J),
3(K)) from the aspiration catheter and
from the secretion canister and clean (see
section 4.1.6 or 4.2.6) or dispose it of (see
section 6.3) properly.
4. Remove the disposable liner ‘OneWay‘ as
described in section 3.5 up to and includ-
ing point 5. Then remove the external can-
ister ‘Bag‘ from the belonging holder. Pull
the holder for the external canister ‘Bag‘
off the guide rails on the device and follow
the instructions for cleaning the external
canister ‘Bag‘ in section 4.1.5 or 4.2.5.
If you are using the reusable secretion
canister system, pull the reusable secre-
tion canister off the guide rails on the de-
vice and then follow the instructions for
cleaning or disposing of the components
of the reusable secretion canister system
described in section 4.1.3 or 4.2.3 and
4.1.4 or 4.2.4.
5. Clean the surface of the device according
to section 4.1.2 or 4.2.2.
6. Store the device in the shipping carton un-
til next use.
3.6 Decommissioning
Health risks associated with handling
infectious agents or pathogens
Infectious agents and pathogens in
the aspirate cause health risks.
• Wear appropriate disposable gloves
during decommissioning.
• Reuse of bacterial filters for multiple
patients is prohibited for safety rea-
sons!
• For each new patient profession-
al hygienic processing by ASSKEA
GmbH or an authorized service part-
ner of ASSKEA GmbH is strictly re-
quired!
• After each aspiration procedure all
components that have come into
contact with the aspirate must be
cleaned, disinfected or disposed of.
• Disposal of aspirate and contaminat-
ed components must be performed
in a proper manner.
