2.3.2 ASSKEA secretion aspirators M-series
The ASSKEA secretion aspirators M-series
are exceptionally convenient, battery-pow-
ered aspiration devices for mobile use.
All mobile devices are operated via the inter-
nal battery or via the supplied power supply
unit that also can be used to recharge the
battery. The desired vacuum is generated by
a maintenance-free vacuum pump. An over-
temperature protection prevents the battery
from overheating during operation and while
charging under unfavorable environmental
conditions.
After it is switched on, the vacuum pump gen-
erates a vacuum in the tubing system and in
the secretion canister, which is used to aspirate
secretion (via a suitable sterile aspiration cath-
eter). The aspirate is directed away from the
patient and collected in the secretion canister.
Once the secretion canister is full, aspiration
is stopped by means of a mechanical over-
flow protection integrated into the lid of the
reusable secretion canister or a self-sealing
bacterial filter in the disposable liner
´OneWay´.
The reusable secretion canister or holder for
the external canister ‘Bag’ is attached by di-
rectly pushing it onto the guide rails on the
housing of the aspiration device (figs. 11, 12).
The vacuum connection between the aspira-
tion device and the secretion canister is made
via the connecting tube (figs. 1, 2, 3(C)).
The ASSKEA secretion aspirators M-series are
fundamentally divided according to the con-
figuration versions into the following groups:
a) analog (M20 - fig. 4)
Similar to stationary aspiration devices, the
vacuum is adjusted by using the vacuum reg-
ulator (additional air regulation) in the analog,
mobile version. All ASSKEA secretion aspi-
rators M-series are operated via the internal
battery or via the supplied power supply unit
that also can be used to recharge the battery.
b) digital (M20D, M30D - fig. 5)
The digital, mobile versions are equipped
with a keyboard foil that can be used to
adjust the desired vacuum value and to regu-
late it using an electronic sensor. All ASSKEA
secretion aspirators M-series are operated
via the internal battery or via the supplied
power supply unit that also can be used to
recharge the battery.
