APRILIA RSV4 R Service Station Manual Download Page 307

•

Fit the U bolts with the nine O rings and

locator pins.

•

Install the oil pipe.

•

Fit the new washers under the screws

(2) near the spark plug holes only.

•

Tighten the ten screws (1 - 2) working

in stages and diagonally.

•

Cut the clamp that binds the chain to

the gear.

•

Position the gear on the camshaft so

that the timing hole and the gear fixing

screw hole are centred with the gear

slot.

•

Insert the specific timing pin.

Specific tooling

Camshaft timing pin

•

Apply Loctite 243 thread lock on the

thread of the timing gear fastener

screw. This screw must be replaced at

each reassembly.

•

Apply and loosely tighten the gear fix-

ing screw on the camshaft.

•

Protect the edge of the head with rubber.

•

Load the chain tensioner with special tool.
