REMOVING THE BATTERY
Carefully read p. 94 (BATTERY).

CAUTION
With the removal of the battery the
digital clock and the partial kilometre
odometer are set to zero. To set the
cl ock again, see p. 20 (SETTING
BUTTONS).

Make sure that the ignition switch is in
position

Remove the saddle, see p. 26
( U N L O C K I N G / L O C K I N G T H E
PASSENGER SEAT).

Unscrew and remove the screw (1) on
the negative terminal (
–
).
◆
Move the negative cable (2) sidewards.
◆
Remove the red protection element (3).
◆
Unscrew and remove the screw (4) on
the positive terminal (
+
).
◆
Move the positive cable (5) sidewards.
!
CAUTION
Do not force the electric cables.
◆
Unscrew and remove the screw (6),
taking the nut.
◆
Lift the bracket (7) that locks the battery.
◆
Grasp the battery (8) firmly and remove it
from its compartment by lifting it.

WARNING
Once it has been removed, the battery
must be stored in a safe place and kept
away from children.
◆
Position the battery on a flat surface, in a
cool and dry place.

WARNING
Upon reassembly, connect first the
positive cable (+) and then the negative
cable (–).

Put back the saddle, see p. 26

CHECKING THE ELECTROLYTE
