Epica DGX 144 Instruction Manual
Linking Epica DGX 144 to Enclosure with 10Base-T Ethernet Port
An Epica DGX 144 can be directly linked to an Optima, Optima SD, Precis SD, and Epica DGX 16/32
enclosures via their Ethernet 10Base-T (Link) ports using an RJ-45 crossover cable.
Important:
If the system has an RJ-45 connector labeled TCP/IP, do not use it for linking
enclosures. Do not use an RJ-45 enclosure linking connector for a TCP/IP connection.
Cable Length Requirements
To link an Epica DGX 144 to an enclosure with a 10Base-T Ethernet port:
1.
Insert the connector on one end of the RJ-45 crossover cable into the Epica DGX 144 enclosure’s
Enc Link / RJ-45 port.
2.
Insert the connector on the other end of the crossover cable into the Ethernet 10Base-T / RJ-45 port
on the second enclosure’s CPU.
When power is applied, the Ethernet connector LEDs illuminate indicating communication status
(see page 25).
