to verify that the system recognizes the board.
Check to be sure the new board is included in the list (FIG. 46). If not, reseat the board and enter the
command again.
10. Optional for systems with SC Fiber boards
– Power down the enclosure.

If applicable – Attach the cable management bar using two screws at the top and two screws at the
bottom (do
not
over tighten screws).
Note:
If using a cable management bar, tie the cable to the cable management bar far enough below
the connector to allow for the manufacturer’s recommended bend radius. The bend radius for
AMX SC terminated fiber cables is 2 inches (5 cm).

Attach the cables to the board’s connectors* and reconnect any other cables that were disconnected
in Step 2 (if applicable – tie cables to cable management bars).
If the system is not powered down:
For connecting a DGX SC Fiber input board
– Avoid direct eye exposure as you
(a) remove the dust plugs from the SC fiber connectors, (b) remove the dust caps from the
fiber cables, (c) establish the connections, and (d) apply power to the DGX TX Transmitter
modules that are connected to the inputs.
For connecting a DGX SC Fiber output board
– Avoid direct eye exposure as you
(a) remove the dust plugs from the SC fiber connectors, (b) remove the dust caps from the
fiber cables, and (c) establish the connections.
13. If the enclosure was powered down
– Reapply power.

Important – Update the system’s configuration file if necessary (to determine if this is necessary, see
the next page).
15.
Execute a test switch that includes a signal routed on the new board to make sure the system is
working correctly. (Repeat for any additional new boards.)
