Epica DGX 144 DVI Boards
Applicability Notice
This chapter pertains to the following Epica DGX 144 DVI (Digital Visual Interface) boards:
FG1055-460 Input board
FG1055-470 Output board
Epica DGX 144 enclosures can hold up to eighteen DGX DVI boards (nine input and nine output) with
eight DVI-I plus four DMS-59 connectors each. The DMS-59 connectors break out to allow two DVI
connections each for a total of 16 input or output channels per board.
DGX DVI input boards can route signals to any type of Epica DGX 144 output board. DGX DVI output
boards can accept signals from any type of input board. When routing from one board type to another,
the Epica DGX 144 automatically converts the signal format to match the output board. (When DGX
DVI Input Boards are used with DGX SC Optical Output Boards, the signals are converted to fiber and
then converted by a DGX RX; see “System Setup with DGX Modules” on page 47). For other types of
available boards, see the “Applicability Notice” on page 7.
DGX DVI boards only support digital, single link (DVI-D) signals. The DVI connectors on the boards
are DVI-I, which allow use of cables with either DVI-D or DVI-I connectors (for DVI-I, the analog pins
are not used; see the DVI-I connector pinout information on page 62).
The DGX DVI input boards also have local DDC (Display Data Channel) support with plug-and-play
information provided by the Epica DGX 144 Distribution Matrix.
Note: The DGX DVI input board does not support HDCP required compliant signals.
EDID Programmer software is included on the AMX AutoPatch CD (also available at www.amx.com )
for re-programming the input boards if necessary (see “Appendix A – EDID Programmer” on page 63).
