MP168 Video Switcher/Controller System
External System Controller
Connection
The data line IN and OUT connectors permit
communication between the MP168 Switcher and
external control units (see Figure 2-18). The data line
OUT connector can be used in two forms:
1 Direct MP168 Output
The system control signals generated by the
MP168 CPU are available as output through the
DATA LINE OUT port. This output can be
connected directly to optional system devices (see
Figure 2-18).
2 External Controller Looping Output
Input from an external system controller is
passive in that it exerts no control functions over
the MP168 Switcher. The MP168 is simply
serving as a link in a chain. Usually, the external
controller input is looped through the MP168 and
output to control another device such as a Control
Code distributor.
