In dual bay configurations there are two (2) Power
Supply Modules, one to provide power to each bay. In
order for the two bays to be synchronized with each
other and exchange information, a communications line
is provided and must be connected between the two
bays (see Figure 2-13).
This communications line plugs into the RJ-45 jack
(labeled ARCNET) situated on the rear panel of each
Power Supply Module. The ARCNET port operates as
a dedicated RS-485 channel between the two bays.
All communications lines between bays should be made
using the RJ45 cable (red color) provided with the
system (part number 0650-1722-01). If a substitute
cable is used, it should be a quality, unshielded, twisted
pair, category 5 cable with RJ-45 jack connectors.
