INSTALLATION
VIM-4 Modules and Loop
Panels (Single Bay)
The MP168 VIM-4 module is used in single and dual
bay applications. VIM-4 modules are used in
conjunction with external Loop Panels to route video
signals into, through, and out of the MP168 Bay.
Each Video Input Module 4 (VIM-4) has two coaxial
cable connectors labeled IN (video from a loop panel)
and OUT (video to a suitable video output processing
device or to the input of a VIM-4 modules in a dual bay
configuration). See Figure 2-9.
Ribbon Cable Connections
A loop panel consists of two sections. Each section has
input and output connectors for coaxial ribbon cables
and 16 BNC connectors for video inputs or video
outputs.
Ribbon cables between the VIM-4 modules and the
Loop Panels must be connected in pairs, i.e., a ribbon
cable must connect a Loop Panel output to the VIM-4
module IN terminal and a second ribbon cable must
connect the VIM-4 module output to a Loop Panel
input as shown in Figure 2-9.
The VIM-4 module does not have any BNC terminals
for connecting individual video sources.
