MP168 Video Switcher/Controller System
INSTALLATION
CONTROL CODE MODULE
CONNECTIONS
The Control Code Module (CCM) provides three types
of communication protocols for controlling accessory
pan/tilt/zoom units. The three communications
protocols provided by the Control Code Module are
SensorNet, AD Manchester, and RS-422.
The CCM module is provided with two tubular
connector plugs: one connector plug for the SensorNet
terminal block, and one connector plug for the AD
Manchester/RS-422 terminal block.
All connections to the CCM are made by first inserting
the appropriate signal wires into the correct slots on the
respective orange tubular connector plug.
NOTE
: The orange tubular connector plugs are not
connected to the module when they are
shipped.
When all connections are complete, the connector plug
is inserted into the mating receptacle mounted on the
CCM Rear Panel.
SensorNet Connections
With release 3.0, the MP168 Control Code Module
(CCM) supports SensorNet as well as RS-422 and AD
Manchester communications (see Appendix C).
AD Manchester Control Code
Configurations
When using multiple AD Manchester Control Code
receivers in a system, the installer must determine the
type of configuration that best suits the application.
Daisy Chain Configuration
Each Manchester Control Code output port
accommodates a maximum of three receiver/driver
units (RDUs) in a “Daisy Chain” configuration (see
Figure 2-4) of less than 1.5KM (5000 feet). AD
Manchester Control Code outputs connect to
receiver/driver units (AD1641M, MP1684B, etc.) in
order to control fixed speed pan/tilt devices.
NOTE:
Use 18AWG shielded, 2-wire, twisted pair
cable (Belden 8760 or equivalent - for plenum,
use Belden 88760 or equivalent).
To comply with all national and local electrical
requirements, all Control Code circuits are NEC Class
2, power limited, low voltage. Avoid installation near
high-voltage circuits or other potential interference
sources.
