INSTALLATION
MP168 Video Switcher/Controller System
Installation
This installation should be made in a planned and
orderly manner. The operation of each piece of
equipment should be confirmed as soon as possible
during the installation procedure.
To facilitate maintenance and assist in servicing the
MP168 Switcher/Controller System, all connecting
cables should be identified with source and destination
numbers. A numbering scheme that approximates the
actual use of the system should be established. This
information will be valuable when attempting to isolate
system problems using the tables in the
Troubleshooting Section of the Appendix.
Additionally, the installation should be documented and
these documents stored in a secure location for future
reference. The following list details some basic
information that should be recorded to aid system
maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting:
•
•
•
•
Individual video cable numbers/letters
with origins (inputs) and destinations
(outputs) noted.
Individual cable or wire colors (if
applicable) and the respective size.
Any special notes that may provide
critical information about the installation.
A thorough record of any changes and/or
upgrades to the system after the initial
installation.
