MP168 Video Switcher/Controller System
INSTALLATION
PC to MP168 CPM Connection for S3
The MP168 Central Processing Module (CPM)
connects to the COM 1 RS-232 serial port on the PC
used with the system. The PC/CPM connection enables
the MP168 system administrator to download system
setup data from the PC to the system, or to upload data
from the system to the PC.
The connection is made using a DB-9 to RJ-45 adaptor,
and a 7 foot (2.2 m) RJ-45 cable provided with the
system. The adaptor’s female DB-9 connector attaches
to the COM 1 male DB-9 connector on the PC. The
cable has male RJ-45 connectors at either end. One end
connects to the female RJ-45 connector on the adaptor.
The other end typically connects to Port 8 on the CPM.
For connections greater than 7 feet, a breakout box and
additional cable can be used for the hookup.
