MP168 Matrix Switcher/Controller System
DESCRIPTION
Video Input Module 1
The MP168 Video Input Module 1 (VIM-1) is only
used in single-bay configurations to provide twelve
terminated BNC inputs that accept NTSC or PAL
standard video signals (see Figure 1-7B). Additionally,
each VIM-1 module provides automatic video loss
detection across all its channels at three different levels:
high, medium, and low. A fourth level exists to
automatically detect the presence of video sync.
Each VIM-1 module processes the incoming video
signal, identifies its presence to the Central Processing
Module, and enables the switch to a Video Output
Module (according to system demand) for display on a
system monitor or use by other accessory devices.

An MP168 VIM-1 module provides 12 direct
input channels for video sources. The MP168
supports a maximum of 15 VIM-1 modules.
VIM-1 modules can reside in slots A through O
determined by the letter slot screening on the
front and rear bay surface (see Figure 1-6A and
1-7A).
