MP168 Matrix Switcher/Control System
CONTROL CODE MODULE
The Control Code Module is an optional component
that provides direct control code output for three
communications protocols; SensorNet, AD Manchester,
and SEC RS-422. The Control Code Module (CCM)
outputs control code without the need for intermediary
code translation devices. The addition of Control Code
Distributors can expand the output capabilities of the
CCM module.
The rear panel of the Control Code Module contains
two distinct terminal blocks for connecting external
devices (see Figure 1-11D).

The Control Code Module can reside in one of two
slots depending on the system configuration:
In applications with a single VOM module,
the Control Code Module always resides in
slot O (the single VOM module always
resides in slot P).
In applications with two VOM modules, the
Control Code Module always resides in slot
N (the two VOM modules always reside in
slots P and O).
Control Code Module (CCM)
Bay Slot
When the optional Control Code Module (CCM) is
used to provide direct code output for AD Manchester,
SEC-RS-422, or SensorNet communications (see
Appendix C), the CCM is resident in the MP168 bay
slot N only. In applications requiring either one or two
Video Output Modules (VOMs), VOM 1 (video
outputs 1-6) resides in slot P. VOM 2 (video outputs 7-
12) resides in slot O.
AD Manchester Code Terminal
The second connector provides three AD Manchester
terminal outputs for connecting up to three groups of
appropriate code driven devices. The Control Code
Module generates direct AD Manchester Control Code
for pan/tilts, lenses, and receiver/drivers.
NOTE: AD Manchester Control Code lines must
be 18-AWG, shielded, twisted pair, Belden
8760, or an equivalent (for plenum, use
Belden 88760 or equivalent).
SEC RS-422 Code Terminal
The second connector also features one 5-pin RS-422
output for connecting SpeedDome series domes to the
MP168. Multiple SpeedDome units may be connected
in a “daisy chain” configuration, or through the use of
Sensormatic RS-422 junction boxes (J-boxes).
NOTE: RS-422 Control Code lines must be 22-
AWG, two 2-wire twisted and shielded
pairs.
