JUMPER SETTINGS
Single Bay Configuration
In the MP168 Switching System, each Video Input
Module can accept a maximum of twelve video inputs
(or channels) but each Video Output module can only
output a maximum of six video channels. One
additional VOM module can be added to the bay to
increase the number of video outputs from six to
twelve.
In dual VOM applications, six shorting jumpers are
used to differentiate between video outputs 1 through 6,
and 7 through 12.
For the first VOM module in a single bay installation
(slot P), the jumper cap is placed on pins 1 and 2 of all
six jumpers (see Figure 2-12). The addition of a second
VOM module (slot O) requires that the jumper caps on
the second module be placed on pins 2 and 3.
The shorting jumpers are reached by removing the front
cover of the bay and removing the appropriate VOM
module from its slot.
Dual Bay Configuration
In a dual bay configuration using two VOM modules
the jumper caps are arranged in the same fashion as in a
single bay configuration.
In bay one the first VOM module has the jumper caps
arranged across pins 1 and 2 and the jumper caps of the
second VOM module are arranged across pins 2 and 3.
In bay two the jumper caps for VOM-1 and VOM-2 are
set exactly the same as in bay one.
