1.5 Power Connector
Figure T1.2 shows the power connector pinout when viewed from the back of the SV160E2. The connector is a
male, four pin, S-coded, M12 connector that is IP67 rated when its mate is properly installed.

+DC Power and DC Common are used to power the SV160E2. The Ext. Brake Resistor pin is for an external
regeneration resistor to limit power dissipation during deceleration. The Chassis GND pin should be used to
ground the chassis of the motor if it is not ground through its mounting.
The SV160E2 can be run at voltages as high as 80 Vdc, and uses an S-coded connector
because of this high voltage. Most S-coded cordsets have three black wires and a single green/
yellow wire. When using such a cable with an SV160E2, it is strongly recommended to label
the wires by pin number before installing the cordset.
1.5.1 Compatible Connectors and Cordsets
Many different connectors and cordsets are available on the market, all of which will work with the SV160E2
provided that the manufacturer follows the connector and Ethernet standards. AMCI offers the following mat-
ing connector and cordset that mate with the power connector.
