Preparing and installing static seals
Process for
FKG1XP / XV / XW
The table below gives the steps of replacing cover seals :
Step Action Comment
1 Remove the damaged
seals.
2 Sand if necessary to re-
move all remaining glue.
3 De--grease using isopropyl
alcohol until all traces of the
adhesive
have been
removed.
Using a clean rag
4 Bring the ends of the new
seal together, applying a
bevelled cut on both, and
place it.

5 Assemble the half--covers,
applying
recommended
torques on screws.
