Chapter 4
Preparing to Run an Autotest 42
You can enter a performance grade (i.e. Category 6) and a test probe count limit
(optional). (If you enable Check Probe Test Count, you must enter a Probe Test
Count Limit value ranging from 100 to 20,000.) If you enter either of these
items, the WireScope 350 will check for compatibility with these settings
whenever this settings profile is loaded. If you leave either of these settings as
“Unspecified”, the WireScope 350 will not check for such compatibility while
the settings profile is loaded. Press
or
Next
to continue.
You must also specify which test limit for any performance grade the
WireScope 350 uses. You can pick a single configuration (i.e. Category 6
channel) or you can select “Auto based on probe” (recommended). If you select
“Auto (based on probe)”, the WireScope 350 will adjust the test limit for any
performance grade based on the type of the limit (link or channel) based on the
test configuration. So in this example, if you attach a basic link probe, the
WireScope 350 would apply the Category 6 basic link test limit. Press
or
Next
to continue.
You can password-protect settings profiles. If you want to alter any settings in a
password-protected profile, you must enter the correct password. This feature
prevents unauthorized users from altering the cable certification settings. To
enable password protection, select
Yes – enable password protection
, enter a
password and press
or
OK
to finish configuring the autotest settings
profile.
