Chapter 4
Preparing to Run an Autotest 30
Setting up hierarchical cable labels
By default, the WireScope 350 is set to use simple cable labels composed of just
a single field. This is the format that most previous generation cable testers used.
Many customers, however, prefer to save cable labels in a hierarchical format.
To configure the WireScope 350 to use hierarchical cable labels, set the
corresponding radio button on the Site setup screen. Press
or
Next
to
continue site setup.
Select which fields to include in the hierarchical cable label. Press
or
Next
to continue on to auto-increment settings within site setup.
Setting up cable label auto-increment behavior
For either simple or hierarchical cable labels, it is useful to set up an auto-
increment scheme so that you do not have to manually enter repetitive cable
label information when testing a sequence of cabling runs.
Select a cable label field for which you wish to enable auto-increment and check
the “enable auto-increment” box. Enter a start and end value. Repeat for each
field you wish to auto-increment. Press
or
OK
to return to the Autotest
Settings screen.
