Chapter 16
Using the Talkset Option
The WireScope 350 talkset option (part number N2605A-137) allows
WireScope 350 and DualRemote 350 operators to talk between autotests over
the cabling run under test. Each talkset option is voice-actuated; that is, a voice
message is sent whenever the operator speaks without the need for pressing a
talk button. This feature permits tests to be performed in an orderly manner and
improves testing productivity.
Operation
Insert the talkset plug into the Headset connector on both the WireScope 350
and the DualRemote 350 (see page 140) to enable simultaneous two-way voice
communications. Speaking into the microphone activates the voice
communications. Voice communications are inhibited whenever the WireScope
350 and DualRemote 350 are in the process of testing.
Controls
Two controls are contained on the talkset. The Volume control enables setting
earphone volume to a comfortable. The Mute switch allows disabling extraneous
voice transmissions when testing in noisy environments.
