Function

Port ID

This option selects a specific shelf, slot, and port to review or 
modify provisioning settings.

2

Service Mode

This option is used to provision the service state of the 
selected port. Each individual port can be placed in one of 
the following service states:

• In Service: In this state, the DS3-PSM passes data, and 

alarms are generated for error conditions. Provisioning, 
activation of test modes, and software downloads are not 
available.

• Out of Service-Maintenance: In this state, the DS3 Port 

passes data, but alarms are suppressed. Provisioning, 
activation of test modes, and software downloads are 
available.

The default state is Out of Service-Maintenance.
