Remote Alarm Indication (RAI)
The DS3-PSM transmits RAI to the far end in the following circumstances:
• Valid framing cannot be identified
• DS3-PSM is receiving AIS on the incoming DS3 signal
• DS3-PSM determines a loss of the incoming DS3 signal
• Cell delineation was lost in the Framer
Upon detection of RAI on the incoming signal, the MUX reports the RAI to the system
controller for status condition reporting purposes.
Compliance
shows the compliance codes for the DS3-PSM. The DS3-PSM is NRTL listed to the
applicable UL standards. The DS3-PSM complies with UL 60950, NEBS Level 3, and GR-
1089-CORE. The DS3-PSM is to be installed in a restricted access location and in a Type “B”
or “E” enclosure only.
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two
conditions:
1. This device may not cause harmful interference.
2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause
undesired operation.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by ADTRAN could void the user’s authority
to operate this equipment.
Input current at minimum load will not exceed 0.20 A at –48 VDC. The maximum input
current is 470 mA at –48 VDC.
CAUTION
Up to –200 VDC can be present on telecommunications wiring.
