OAM Loopback Test Screen
The OAM Loopback Test Screen (see
) is used to perform OAM Loopback testing. The
OAM Loopback test sends OAM Cells with the loopback indication bit set. The Remote OAM ID
must be entered to identify at which connecting node the loopback should occur. Upon the
Remote receiving the OAM Loopback cell, the remote will respond with an OAM cell with the
loopback indication bit cleared. For the DS3-PSM to properly respond to OAM loopbacks
directed at it, the OAM ID of the DS3-PSM should be set to a value other than all “6A”s. When
a DS3-PSM has the OAM ID set to the default of all “6A”s, then OAM loopbacks are ignored.
