Delta System Installation (cont.)
"MUTING"....."ALL OFF"......"POWER DOWN"......"ALL OFF"......and then the time is dis-
played. When the time is displayed, the system is completely off. If you are using more than
one Delta-88 in your system, all the Delta-88s will track this shut down process together.
Step M - Initial Delta-88 Setup & Labeling of Room & Source Names
The Delta-88 is capable of being programmed after it has been installed. The first level of
programming requires assigning the Delta-88 so that it operates either rooms 1-8 ("ROOM
GROUP 1") or rooms 9-16 ("ROOM GROUP 2"). Furthermore, you will need to tell the Delta-
88 how many cards are on the system. While the software for the maximum cards describes
"MAX ROOM #", this maximum number must take into account all cards including RAM-50s,
Slave RAM-50's, RBM-50s, and VSM-8s. This programming is essential in that two Delta-88s
can operate on the same network and you will need to assign Delta-88 mainframe addressing
and max. card numbers to each Delta-88 on the system. Please note, that your Delta System
may have already been pre-programmed by ADA. To program Delta-88 mainframe addresses
and set the maximum room number, follow these steps.
Specifying The Delta-88 for Rooms 1-8 or Rooms 9-16 & Max. Room Numbers.
1
Turn on one room by pressing a room button and then a source. The Delta-88 will
"POWER UP" and this will take a few seconds.
2
Press and hold the LABEL button until its LED is lit.
3
Repeatedly press the PRESET button until the source display reads "MODE 3 PRGRM".
4
To set the Delta-88's mainframe address (1 or 2), repeatedly press the VOL UP button.
The source display will toggle between "ROOM GROUP 1" (Primary Delta-88 - Zones
1-8) and "ROOM GROUP 2" (Slave Delta-88 - Zones 9-16). If you are using more than
two Delta-88's, the third (fifth, seventh, etc.) Delta-88 will need to be set to "ROOM
GROUP 1" and the fourth (sixth, eighth, etc.) Delta-88 will need to be set to "ROOM
GROUP 2". When the correct "ROOM GROUP #" is displayed, release the VOL UP
button.
5
Repeatedly press the BASS UP button until the source display reads the "MAX ROOM
#" for that Delta-88. If you have a Delta-88 with 6 RAM-50 Cards and one VSM-8 Video
Switching Card, the max room # should read "MAX ROOM 7". If you passed the correct
max room #, you can use the BASS DN button to scroll back to it.
6
When the correct max room # is displayed in the source window, press the ALL button.
The source display will quickly read "PROGRAMMING"......"PROGRAMMED".....and
then the source selected to that room.
7
Repeat these steps for each Delta-88 on your system
The second level of programming involves assigning source buttons and room buttons with
a name. Each source and room can have a twelve character alphanumeric name. All the
