Delta-88 Configuration
The Delta-88 has three levels of configuration that need to be set for it to operate properly within your
particular application. These setups are:
1
Initialize the Delta-88 for IR control from the Delta-88 Remote (Appendix G).
2
Initialize the Delta-88 front panel IR receiver.
3
Initialize each zone to engage with the last volume used or volume preset.
Delta-88 IR Remote Configuration
The Delta-88 can be operated from the VS-3 IR Remote (with a Delta-88 overlay) as an inexpensive
IR remote control for the System Delta. You can use the Delta-88's front panel IR receiver or an IRT-
3000 as the IR pickup for this remote control. However, the rooms capable of being controlled from
this remote control are only the first three zones on the system. If wireless IR control is required from
other rooms, an MC-0038 will need to be used. If you are incorporating an SSD-66 on these zones,
it too can be operated from the VS-3 Remote (no overlay required) on either zones 1, 2 or 3. If you
opt for this type of control, the SSD-66 REM IR remote control that comes included with the purchase
of an SSD-66, can be swapped for a VS-3 REM IR Remote control at no additional charge. You may
choose to purchase VS-3 REMs for zone one if no SSD-66 is purchased or for IR controls for zones 2
and/or 3.
The Delta-88 will need to be told if it is to operate from this remote control. Since a Delta System may
be used in the same house with a VS-3 System Titanus (VS-3 is used in its "STAND ALONE" version
as a linear {not scrolling} one room home theater switcher), it may be necessary to tell the Delta-88
not to respond to VS-3 REM commands. To engage or disengage the Delta-88's ability to accept VS-
3 REM IR codes, follow these steps.
1
Turn the Delta-88 on by pressing any room button followed by a source button.
Remember that power up takes a few moments.
2
Press and hold the Delta-88's LABEL button until its LED is lit. Once in the label mode
you will have five seconds to move to the next step before the Delta-88 automatically
times out of its programming mode. If the LABEL button's LED is off, you are no longer
in the program mode. You will not be able to access the Label Mode (Programming
Mode) unless the selected Delta-88 room is on to a source. If the source display reads
the words "RELEASE" and a number, press a source button to turn on that room.
3
Repeatedly press the Delta-88's PRESET button until "MODE 1 LABEL" appears in the
source LED readout.
4
Press the ENHAN STEREO button and the source display will show either "DELTA88
ONLY" (the VS-3 remote will not operate the Delta-88) or "TITANUS REMT" (the VS-
3 remote will operate the first three zones on the Delta-88).
5
Press and hold the ENHAN STEREO button and release the button only when the
desired setting is on the source display.
6
Press the LABEL button to exit the Delta-88's programming mode or simply let the
Delta-88 time out of its programming mode.
