Changing Configuration Parameter Values
You can change only the following configuration
parameter values with the 3TLVDIAG program:
■
Ring Speed
This selection remains in effect during the 3TLVDIAG
session. When you exit the program, the ring speed
reverts to that specified during installation.
■
Post Write
■
SBCLK Ratio
■
Local Bus Speed
All other parameters must be changed within the system
configuration files appropriate to your operating system.
Refer to the sample NET.CFG and PROTOCOL.INI files on
the
TokenDisk
diskettes.
The 3TLVDIAG program is a DOS application that must
be run with no drivers or memory managers installed.
It requires that you boot from DOS without running
the AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS files. The 3TLVDIAG
program will not run in a Windows NT or a Windows 95
DOS window.
To change NIC configuration parameter values with the
3TLVDIAG diagnostic and configuration program, follow
these steps:
1 If you are using an operating system other than
DOS, use the appropriate procedure in Table 3-2 to
start DOS.
2 Insert
TokenDisk
diskette #1 in a floppy drive and
make that the active drive.
3 At the DOS prompt enter:
3tlvdiag
The 3Com 3TLVDIAG program main menu appears, as
shown in Figure A-1.
