Installation with NetWare 3.11
To install the NetWare server driver for NetWare 3.11,
follow these steps:
1 Determine the NIC’s port address, as described
in “Finding the NIC’s Port Address” earlier in
this chapter.
2 Before starting the server, copy the contents of the
\NETWARE\SERVER\3.11 directory on
TokenDisk
diskette #1 to the boot partition of the server’s
hard disk.
3 Start the server and enter the following commands
at the server prompt:
load C:LSLENH.NLM
load C:3C3X9.LAN PORT=XXXX
where XXXX is the NIC’s port address.
Be sure to load LSLENH.NLM before loading the
3C3X9.LAN driver, or system malfunction will occur.
If your token ring network is running at 4 Mbps, add
the SPEED parameter to the driver load command.
For example:
load C:3C3X9.LAN PORT=XXXX SPEED=4
4 Bind the transport protocol to the driver.
Add the
load
and
bind
commands to the AUTOEXEC.NCF
file for automatic execution when you start or restart
the server.
This concludes the procedure for installing the NetWare
server driver for one NIC in a server with NetWare 3.11.
Installation with NetWare 3.12 and 4.x
To install the NetWare server driver under NetWare 3.12,
you need the following files from Novell:
■
312PTA.EXE (or later)
■
LANDR9.EXE
