In Figure 2-1, PCI-bus slots are the short, white slots; ISA
and EISA slots are the longer, shaded slots. Make sure the
NIC is completely seated in the slot by pushing down
firmly on both ends of the NIC. If necessary, refer to the
documentation provided by the computer’s manufacturer
for details on installing expansion boards.

Connecting to the Network
You must connect the NIC to the network before
installing drivers or running diagnostics.
This section describes how to connect the types of
network cables listed in Table 2-1 to the 3C339 NIC.
