23. Drive System of the Corn header

Actuation with drive shaft outside
Non-foldable corn header are driven with a driven shaft.
At all times secure the shaft protection against turning via the
chain (K).
If the harvester is equipped with a pivoted angling plate, check the
overlap in extracted condition.
Control the guard (S) before commissioning. During
operation, do not open or remove the same.

Inner drive
At the delivery of the corn header, the drive shaft is already
mounted.
In order to attach the same to the harvester, the screws must be
loosened, and the protection pulled in forward direction.
After completion of the coupling process, retighten the screws at
the protection.
Strictly comply with the instructions and take care to use the
correct drive shaft version.
Before commissioning, check the pivoting range
and the length of the drive shaft. Make sure there is
sufficient overlap.

Shaft drive systems
Depending on the model, harvesters can be equipped with vary-
ing shaft drive systems.
When working at the machine, always shut down the
diesel motor!
Secure the shaft protection against turning! Immedi-
ately exchange damaged shaft protection!
(CH) Chains to secure the shaft protection from turning.
Before commissioning, do not forget to read the special instruc-
tions of the drive shaft!
Lubricate the spline shaft section of the drive shaft connection
once every year.
