Maintenance

If you are cleaning a color ink cartridge, be especially careful to wipe the 
nozzles in only one direction so the colors do not mix.

Allow the copper-colored area to dry, then reinstall the ink cartridge and 
repeat the nozzle test.

If the line is still broken, clean the print cartridge carrier contacts in your 
machine.  Refer to Cleaning the Cartridge Carrier Contacts on page 8-14.

If print quality still has not improved, replace the ink cartridge.

Press the Menu 

 button, then press the 1 + 2 buttons on the keypad.  

Press the Start 

 button.  Press the Up 

 and Down 

 button 

until CLEAN HEAD ? appears in the LCD display

Open the Control Panel and the Cartridge Compartment Cover.  The 
Cartridge Carrier Assembly moves to the center of the machine.
