RESOURCE ERROR OR
SYSTEM ERROR Internal system errors
detected. Look for obvious error
conditions like jams, out
of paper, ink or memory.
If the problem persists,
power the machine off
and on. Any documents
in memory may be lost.
DIAL ERROR Error detected when
programming Speed
Dial or Group Dial. Carefully follow
instructions on program-
ming phone numbers.
NO ANSWER Did not detect a fax tone
after all retry attempts. Check with the remote
operator to ensure the
remote machine is
working properly.
LINE BUSY Remote line was busy. Try operation again or at
a later time.
PRE-MSG ERROR
or
POST-MSG ERROR
or
COMPATIBLE ERROR
or
SEND ERROR
or
RECEIVE ERROR Errors detected at the
beginning, during or at
the end of the transmis-
sion This is normally caused
by a poor telephone line
connection. Try the
operation again. Or try
the operation to (or
from) another fax
machine at the remote
location.
