6.29.3 Install the Uppermost Grain Band

1. Install the uppermost grain band hangers to the underside of the roof ribs, spaced evenly around the roof.

Refer to the layout corresponding to the specific Grain Bin Dryer under construction as shown in

Section

6.29.2 – Grain Band Layouts on page 77

2. Install the 15”-wide uppermost grain bands to the grain band hangers.

These grain bands come to rest against the highest grain band posts but they do not bolt to these posts.

6.30. Plenum Cone Assembly

6.30.1 Install the Plenum Cone

To prepare and install the plenum cone, refer to

Figure 51

1. Position the cone angles over the plenum cone so that:

a. all angles face the same direction

b. the rectangular holes in the angles are up (toward the peak)

2. Bolt the angles to the plenum cone.

a. At this time, use the top holes in each angle only.

b. Use 1/2” x 1” hex drive truss bolts and 1/2” flanged hex nuts.

3. Install the plenum cone and cone angles to the plenum sheets.

a. Use 1/2” x 1” hex drive truss bolts and 1/2” flanged hex nuts.

b. Tighten all bolts.
