6.34. Test the Winch or HPU

Test the winch or HPU as follows:

1. Make certain the winch will lift the lift plates to the highest operating position, which will make the dump

chutes level with the horizontal.

2. Make certain the winch unit will allow the lift plates to lower to the lowest operating position, which will let

the chutes come to rest against the chute neck bottoms.

3. Adjust the chain lengths as necessary to ensure the winch can move the lift plates to both the highest and

lowest operating positions.

Note

Assembling the ductwork in sections as you add tiers is easier than waiting until the bin is fully erected.
