6.23. Install Lower Plenum Sheets

In this step you will begin the installation of plenum sheets on the lower part of the rafters.

1. Position the first lower plenum sheet on a set of lower rafter bolt holes (using the sheet locators to align the

bolt holes in the sheet).

2. Bolt the lower plenum sheet through the sheet and the rafter bolt holes.

3. Continue to install the sheets next to the one most recently installed, overlapping all sheets in the same

direction. Use 1/2” x 1” hex drive truss bolts (90100490) and 1/2” flanged nuts (028002).

4. Install grain band posts where they should be located during this operation.

5. Continue this operation, until all lower sheets are installed.

Important

Ensure the top flange of the rafters and the tension segments are level before installing the lower
plenum sheets. If they are not, this will lead to bumps in the plenum sheets. This will lead to gaps in
the plenum flashing which is not allowed.
