6.32.2 Install Dump Hopper Chains and S-Hooks

1. Install dump hopper chains to (upper and) lower dump hoppers using S-hooks (See

Figure 62

)

2. For lower dump hoppers, using S-hooks, connect dump hoppers together in pairs as shown in

Figure 63

a. Use S-hooks to connect the chains.

b. Place an S-hook at the mid-point of the chain between the hoppers.

c. Close the S-hooks with pliers.

3. Connect a chain from the mid-point of the interconnecting chain to the eye bolt on the rafter.

a. Initially set the length of the chains so the hopper chutes come to rest supported by the dump hopper

chute bottoms and the eye bolts.
