1. Verify power at the controller and disconnect is “OFF”.

2. Using appropriate hardware to mount pit stop switch in the hoistway 18” above

the lowest fl oor landing and within reach from the lowest fl oor hoistway door.

Note:

If the lowest landing has 2 or more means of access you may need an

additional stop pit switch so a switch can be easily accessed from each access
point.

Per code A17.1 when the pit exceeds 1700mm (67 in.) in depth, an additional
stop pit switch is required and approximately 1200 mm (47 in.) above the pit
fl oor.

3. Attach the pit stop switch cord and route the cord to the nearest junction box

and wire to the controller box per schematic. the pit stop switch must be wired
to meet N.E.C. and local code.
