1. Fill pump with hydraulic oil until motor is

submerged completely and add oil as necessary.

Note:

Typically 25-30 gallons total.

2. Loosen, but do not remove, the bleeder bolt.

Note

Frequently clean exposed jack cylinder,

wiper ring, and crown with a clean rag

throughout

installation.

Use

AW-32

hydraulic oil and maintain oil temperature

between 60°F and 110°F

Bleed the jack every morning before running during the elevator installation process.

3. Bleed the air from the jack by running pump. (Refer to pendant control page)

4. Once

fl uid begins to seep out of bleeder stop the pump. Securely fasten the bleeder bolt in the

jack sleeve. Once complete, clean up the seepage.

5. Using the pendant control, project piston to proper distance and continue with shackle

installation. (Refer to fi eld drawings)

INFORMATION ON PISTON PROJECTION

By defi nition,

Piston Projection

is the linear distance

that the rod has traveled from its fully retracted out

position.

When fully retracted, the rod will protrude from the

cylinder. This distance is

NOT

included in the piston

projection dimensions given for the elevator.

With the jack bottomed out, measure the distance

from the top face of the crown to the bottom plate of

the ram header (as shown). Take note of this distance.

When setting piston projection, add the initial rod

extension to the piston projection dimensions given

in fi eld drawings, then measure in the same fashion.

Additional weight may be required during installation to assist unit in descendin
