Surveyor2000 Components
All Surveyor2000 units are comprised of an Enclosure, a removable
Camera Drive, a Shroud and a Lower Dome. This assembly is the heart of
every prepackaged Surveyor2000. Figure 1 shows an In-Ceiling model,
Figure 2 an Indoor Pendant model and Figure 3 an Outdoor Pendant
model.

Surveyor2000 In-Ceiling
Enclosure
The Enclosure is a metal shell that houses the camera drive on 3 standoffs.
A safety cord and clip are provided to connect to the camera drive latch
during installation. In addition, a small hole is provided on the Enclosure’s
lip for connection of the lower dome’s plug. A top cover, a standard 0.5-
inch (13 mm) conduit fitting and a pair of flippers are provided for the In-
Ceiling Mount model. The top cover is attached with 3 screws. For In-
Ceiling installations that do not use conduit pipe, a standard 0.5-inch (13
mm) strain relief fitting provides solid cable anchoring at the Enclosure.
Two rotating flippers are used to give a convenient and sturdy connection
of the Enclosure into the ceiling. The pendant models do not use flippers.
Camera Drive
The Camera Drive is comprised of an integral camera, pan-and-tilt drive
and CPU. The camera drive quickly and accurately positions the camera in
360
°
of pan angle and 90
°
of tilt angle. All wiring is made directly to the top
of the Camera Drive. There are variations in camera type for format,
magnification and day/night usage.
Shroud
The Shroud is a 5.4 in. (137 mm) textured black ABS plastic shell. It has a
1.2 in. (30.5 mm) slotted opening for the camera. This Shroud conceals the
position of the camera and snaps onto the camera drive.
Lower Dome
The Lower Dome is an assembly comprised of a 5.9 inch (150 mm)
diameter acrylic plastic shell, a trim ring and a safety cord. Lower domes
for indoor versions come in a choice of Smoked, Chrome or Gold finishes.
Outdoor Lower Domes are clear and use 4 screws for additional support.
All Lower Domes are anchored to the enclosure by the safety cord. Refer
to the Maintenance section for care.
Housing
The Housing is a molded plastic protective cover for the enclosure in the
Surveyor2000 Indoor Pendant configuration. The Housing contains two
spring clips that snap into the enclosure and a 1.0-inch NPT pipe flange
mount. In addition, the Housing is equipped with a safety cord and clip that
is used to suspend the enclosure during installation.
Sunshield/Housing Assembly
The Sunshield is pre-installed over the housing used on the Outdoor
Pendant version for environmental sealing from water, dust and debris. It
incorporates an O-ring seal and a foam barrier. In addition, a
thermostatically-controlled heater is provided for temperature control.
CAUTION:
For any environment subject to moisture, use the Outdoor
Pendant model.
