8. Route each cable from the inside top of the housing down to the fan’s bracket and then comfortably over
to its mating connector on the Communications/Power Supply Board. Add 1-inch (25 mm) of extra length
to each cable for termination and cut them. The approximate length of each cable should be 13 - 16
inches (330 - 406 mm).
9. Terminate all the cables as follows:
a) Remove terminal blocks TB1 and/or TB3. Since the control signals exist in both TB3 and J3, do not
remove TB3 if J3 will be used for control signal wiring.
b) Strip approximately 1 inch (25 mm) of insulation off all wires to be terminated in terminal blocks TB1
and TB3. Then strip approximately 0.25 inches (6 mm) of insulation off of each individual wire.
c) Make all connections to terminal blocks TB1 and TB3 with reference to Table 2. On TB3, the
COMMAND IN + (CI+) and COMMAND IN - (CI-) connections must be used for Simplex operation.
For Half Duplex operation, the additional signals RESPONSE OUT + (RO+) and RESPONSE OUT -
(RO-) must also be used. Insert each wire into its proper terminal block location and tighten the
screw.
d) Terminate the video (coaxial) cable with a BNC type male connector.
e) Terminate the 8-conductor alarm cable or communication/relay cable with an RJ-45 male connector,
if connectors J2 or J3 will be used.
WARNING
: If Vicoax mode is being used, DO NOT wire TB3 or J3 with control signals, as this will cause
the camera dome program to lock up upon power-up.
10. Reinstall the terminal blocks TB1 and TB3 into the Communication Power Supply Board at the proper
block frames.
11. Install the video BNC cable connector to the Communication/Power Supply Board’s mating BNC
connector at location J1 (for coax installations) or connect twisted-pair video wires to screw terminal TB4
(for UTP installations).
12. Plug in all RJ-45 cable connectors to their corresponding mating connectors J2 and J3.
WARNING
: Failure to insert the RJ-45 connectors into the correct mating connectors can cause damage
to the Communication Power Supply Board upon power-up.
3. Route all cables under the fan’s cable retainer as shown in Figure 17a.

4. Configure the Surveyor2000 communication and address DIP switches as follows:
1
a) If RS-422 mode will be used:
1.
le 3. All
addresses between 0 and 255 are valid (address 0 is the same as camera number 256).
. Set switch 1 on DIP switch 2 (S2) to the appropriate video mode (PAL/OFF or NTSC/ON).
3. Set switch 2 on DIP switch 2 (S2) to the OFF position (VPS/NOVA mode).
Set switches 1 - 8 on DIP switch 1 (S1) to Surveyor2000’s address as specified in Tab
2
