Installing the Cables
WARNING:
Disable the AC power to prevent installer injury and damage to the unit.
Cables are installed using 2 different methods, depending on the installation type. For the In-Ceiling
installation, cables are routed from above the ceiling through a conduit fitting on the enclosure to the board.
For the Pendant installation, cables are routed from the inside of the housing through a cable clamp to the
Communication Power Supply Board.
For an In-Ceiling Installation
1. Remove the enclosure’s top cover by loosening the 3 screws and lifting it off.
2. Place all cables through the conduit fitting on the side of the enclosure. Verify that all cables have been
routed through 0.5 inch (13 mm) rigid or flexible conduit pipe.
NOTE
: Connectors that do not fit through the conduit fitting must be cut off and re-terminated after passing
the cable through. It is recommended to pass any RJ-45 connectors through the fitting first. BNC type
connectors do not fit through the fitting and must be terminated later.
NOTE
: If conduit pipe is not used, the supplied strain relief fitting must be installed in place of the one
installed to provide sufficient cable strain relief.
