A.4.1

Position Format

Position values are represented in the Scaled Binary Coded Angle (SBCA) format. The equiva-
lent weight of any bit in degrees is given by the formula:

360 / 2^N, where N = bit number (MSB = bit 1)

This gives the following bit weightings:

MSB: (bit 1) 180 degrees

(bit 2) 90 degrees

(bit 3) 45 degrees

(bit 4) 22.5 degrees
