Chapter 5 - Maintenance 

5.2.2 Cleaning 

Clean the digital controller as follows: 

 

 

Remove  ac  power  from  unit  before  cleaning. Failure to observe this 
warning may result in physical injury or death. 

 

Wear eye protective glasses or goggles before cleaning unit with 
compressed air. Failure to observe this warning may result in physical 
injury or blindness. 

a)  Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft bristle brush attachment. Remove 

foreign matter from the chassis and the front panel. 

b)  Remove dust from internal recesses and printed-wiring boards with a 

hand-controlled dry air jet, not more than 15 psi. 

5.3 Test Equipment 

The test equipment recommended for digital controller maintenance is listed 
in Table 5.1. Instruments other than those listed may be used if their 
performance equals or exceeds that of the recommended instruments.

5.4 Troubleshooting 

These procedures aid in troubleshooting equipment faults. The minimal 
number of active components in the digital controller signal paths provide a 
highly reliable design. Periodic preventive maintenance reduces the 
possibility of failure. If, however, the digital controller should fail, follow 
these general procedures.
